LAKE GEORGE — The Freedom Boat Club is loaning free life jackets to children this boating season.
The program is made possible by the BoatU.S. Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water and allows boaters to borrow a child’s life jacket for the day or the weekend at no charge.

If people do not have enough child life jackets on board, they can visit the Freedom Boat Club Lake George, which is located at Beckley’s Marina, and sign out an infant, child or youth jacket for the day, according to a news release. They can return the jacket to the same location.

The club was awarded a kit of 12 lifejackets. There are more than 550 Boat U.S. Foundation Life Jacket Loaner sites all over the country, according to a news release.

Beckley’s is open between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. For more information about the program, contact club owner Matt O’Hara at 845-642-0201.
