Location: Tampa, Florida
Welcome to Freedom Boat Club of Tampa:
Sunny, convenient and electrifying.
Aside from the bright sun and plentiful sand of Egmont Key and other areas, South Tampa offers an array of opportunities to lounge, play and sightsee on your boating adventure.
Drop anchor in the power-plant-warmed water near the TECO smokestacks, and you just might spy manatees, sharks, mackerel, dolphins and more. Or dock at the Marriott Hotel and catch a trolley just minutes from Channelside and the attractions of downtown Tampa.
Tampa is also host to the world famous Gasparilla Festival, where you’ll experience the legend of Jose Gasper.
Showers and lockers are even available for members’ convenience at the marina.
Announcements
Welcome to South Tampa! March 10, 2009
Effective Wednesday, April 1, 2009, we will be located in South Tampa at the Yacht Club of the Americas Marina. This new location (formally Bayside Marina & Rattlefish Grill) at 5200 West Tyson Ave., Tampa is only 25 minutes from Apollo Beach.
YCOA provides a great atmosphere for a company always striving to provide hassle-free boating for each of its members. With a brand new office, floating docks, on-site fuel facilities, the renamed Hula Restaurant, completely stocked Captain's store including bait and tackle and direct Tampa Bay access, this beautiful marina is a wonderful improvement. Additionally, we have negotiated with the Tampa Harbor Yacht Club (a division of YCOA) to award our current Apollo Beach members a Social Membership to their other Yacht Club locations in Key West, Naples, and Sanibel Island.
Our dock staff, Captains Matt Morrison and Fred Farias will continue to provide you with the service you've come to expect at this new location. Among other duties they will guide you in boating to downtown St. Pete (now only 20 minutes away), Weedon Island (five minutes away) and the Channelside District (30 minutes away). Beer Can Island is still 30 minutes away and awaits your revelry.
We plan on having an Open House complete with food and beverage shortly after moving into this facility. Stay tuned for details.
