Location: Cape Cod - Falmouth, Massachusetts

Take an exciting trip fishing the rips and shoals of the Nantucket and Vineyard Sounds, or venture offshore to hook up with big game sharks, tuna or light tackle mahi-mahi.

Inshore fishing targets striped bass, bluefish, bonito and false albacore. trolling, drifting cut bait, casting lures or running live bait are generally some of the methods used.

The striped bass is so highly prized for its size and many anglers consider it the premier game fish in Massachusetts. It can be found from May to November along the entire Massachusetts coastline.

Fishing for adult bluefish generally improves through the summer as more fish start moving into inshore areas, and extends through October, after which waters cool and the fish migrate offshore and southward. Snappers are caught in estuaries and bays, and adults are caught along rocky or sandy shores and from boats.

Shellfishing is another sport that is abundant in Falmouth and Cape Cod.  Try your hand and gathering clams, oysters, mussels or scallops.  Check with the dockmaster to make sure you have the appropriate permits before heading out on this adventure.
