Opening In Spring 2012

Situated on beautiful Long Beach Island, Duck Cove offers access to some of the best waters on the Jersey Shore. Dock departure opens access to Manahawkin Bay, Great Bay and Barnegat Bay. Just a few miles north is famous Barnegat Light and Barnegat Inlet which offers some of the best fishing, crabbing, clamming and seascapes on the East Coast. Waterways are well marked and offer easy navigation throughout the area.

Heading North from the Marina opens up areas full of adventure. The Barnegat Inlet area is picturesque with the Sedge Islands and the lighthouse area. Shut down for years Barnegat Light is now a functioning lighthouse using the latest in energy saving technology. This area offers several mooring areas for day activities. Watch the windsurfers glide across the bay while relaxing in clean waters. Local area restuarants offer a blend of locally caught fish and the historic ambiance of a fishing village. Barnegat Light is a must see for all boaters in the area.

The BB Buoy marks the mouth af the famous Forked River. Take a ride up river and view magnificient homes and local wildlife. Continue to the head of the river for exceptional dining and entertainment. Head East across the bay to Island Beach State Park and the Tices Shoal area. You can anchor at Tices Shoal, jump in the water and walk across the Island Beach State Park Boardwak and go right to the ocean! Bring a beach towel, sit on the pristine beach and watch the waves roll in, then return to the bay and your boat. What a great way to spend the day!

Heading South will bring you from Manahawkin Bay into Great Bay. Well known for its marsh lands and wildlife, this bay opens up a whole new area of adventure. Holgate and  Little Egg Inlet are a bit trecherous, however the channels are very well marked, so check the weather and the charts. Talk to the guys in the bait shops and marina for navigation advice. Shoals occur seasonally and it's always best to get some local advice on navigation. Watch the buoys and have a great time in one of the Jersey Shore's largest bird sanctuary and wildlife areas. Or bring a fishing pole and good luck!

Check the charts, local guides and area maps as localities have exhibits summerlong. You can even climb "Old Barney" and take some fantastic pictures of Long Beach Island and the inlet area of Island Beach State Park as local fisherman surf and jetty fish.
