Welcome to Freedom Boat Club of City Island, NY!
The City Island port, in the Bronx, is one of the newest additions to the Freedom Boat Club of New York. Nearby Kings Point, part of Long Island's "Gold Coast", is only 1.5 miles from City Island. At City Island, members have access to unlimited boating at all six New York locations.
This small community at the edge of New York City located just beyond Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. It's surrounded by the waters of the Long Island Sound and Eastchester Bay. With Execution Light to the northeast and Stepping Stones Lighthouse to the south, City Island has a rich nautical history, much of it preserved by the Historical Society and Museum.
From is early European roots to its ship building days during WWI and WWII; City Island is still that small community where New Yorkers can get away for the city. Visit a few of the many restaurants and shops during to visit to this area.

Boating Requirements
You must hold a New York safety certificate if:
- You operate a personal watercraft and are at least 14 years of age. Until 2009 operators age 10-13 can still operate with restrictions. Click on Navigation Law updates for complete information.
- You wish to operate a motorboat (other than a personal watercraft) and you are at least 10 years old and less than 18 years old.
- If you are less than 10 years old you may operate a motorboat (non-PWC) only if someone over 18 or someone between the ages of 10 and 18 who holds a safety certificate, is on board with you. Anyone may operate a personal watercraft if someone at least 18 years old is riding on the craft and they hold a safety certificate.
