What a time we had first starting with the courteous helpful staff at FBC Cape Haze which got our three day adventure off to a happy start.
We had made reservations at the Boca Grande Resort located at Uncle Henry’s Marine on Boca Grande. While the marine is separate from the resort, the dock master (Paul) was most helpful with accommodating our Freedom Boat Club boat for 2 nights at a reasonable rate.
Arriving at the resort, we didn’t know what to expect but soon found what we wanted, everyone is on “island time”. The room was very nicely done, pool was very clean, very few people, it was really relaxing. The resort property has 2 restaurants but one was closed however the little general store (Kappie’s) had all we needed. The next morning we went by boat to The Innlet at the Outlet. Best breakfast anywhere. Lunch was the same as the day before, picnic on the sandbar in Uncle Henry’s Channel. Did a little fishing but mostly just enjoyed the shallows and sand. Real island style – laid back. Evening we had dinner and drinks at the resort restaurant – the Sand Bar. Everything was great, you have to try it and be sure to ask for Brenda Lee. She and her family and friends have set up quite the place. Won’t describe it, you will just have to find out for yourself.
Next morning breakfast at the Sand Bar with Brenda Lee and off to wade, sun and fish. Upon returning to Cape Haze, nothing had changed. We were greeted and treated very nicely. Please thank all the staff at Freedom Boat Club and John Giglio for all Freedom Boat Club has to offer giving us a great excursion without the boating hassles.
