The Freedom Ride Prepares To Roll This Friday From Southwest Florida

May 12, 2015, Venice, FL – The Boaterz ‘n Bikerz Hull of a Tour2 launch of “The Freedom Ride” is throttling forward and scheduled to officially launch this Friday at 10 am from Freedom Boat Club’s Marina Jack location in downtown Sarasota, FL.

Title sponsored by Freedom Boat Club, along with national media sponsor Soundings Trade Only, platinum sponsor Hurricane Boats and event producer/publicist Kenton Smith Marketing, “The Freedom Ride” features a nine-day guided motorcycle and boating tour from Florida to Washington, D.C. from May 15 – 24, with the finale featuring participation in the famous 100,000-bike Rolling Thunder Rally that honors war veterans, POWs and those missing in action.

This one-of-a-kind motorcycle and boating tour for members of the boating industry and their sponsored friends attracts participants from throughout the country in a celebration of freedom on the open seas and open road. Riders can join en route from any of the official stops including Sarasota, FL; St. Augustine, FL.; Savannah, GA; Charleston and Myrtle Beach, SC; Morehead City, NC; Williamsburg, VA; Gettysburg and York, PA; Annapolis MD; Charlottesville and Alexandria, VA.

The group will visit Freedom Boat Club locations along the route for waterfront festivities. Sarasota’s club is hosting the kick-off breakfast and launch party, while clubs in Savannah and Myrtle Beach will host cookouts. The Freedom Boat Club in St. Augustine is sponsoring a boat ride and brunch at the historic Flagler College presidential dining room, while the Annapolis, MD club has arranged for riders and guests to board club boats for a cruise on the Severn River where they will be treated to a live, command performance of the Blue Angels as part of the U.S. Naval Academy graduation festivities.

“It is going to be a really fantastic ride,” said Freedom Boat Club Chief Marketing Officer and Tour Organizer Wanda Kenton Smith. “Besides cruising spectacular scenic and coastal back roads and visiting Freedom Boat Clubs for some wonderful hospitality, we’ll also be touring historic sites including the naval boats at Patriot’s Point in Charleston; a two-hour ferry trip and ride through the Outer Banks with a stop at Kill Devil Hills at the Wright Brothers Kitty Hawk museum; Williamsburg, VA; the Harley-Davidson museum in York, PA where touring bikes and custom vehicles are manufactured; the Gettysburg battlefield which includes a customized group tour; and Thomas Jefferson’s beloved Monticello. The finale of The Freedom Ride is riding in Rolling Thunder, an escorted tour from the Pentagon to the Viet Nam Memorial Wall alongside thousands of war veterans.

The Freedom Ride is the second event hosted by the Boaterz ‘n Bikerz group. The inaugural ride traveled 3000 miles from Destin, FL to San Diego, CA in 2012.
