bbbsFreedom Boat Club Corporate Locations in SW Florida Makes Major Donation to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast

Freedom Boat Club, the nation’s oldest and largest boat club with 12,000+ members in 21 states and Canada, recently concluded its first-ever national cause-marketing partnership to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

While total national contributions among all participating clubs nationwide are presently being collected and tabulated for presentation to the national headquarters of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America the end of June, the 16 corporate-owned Freedom Boat Clubs from Bradenton to Marco Island, FL raised $23,750.98 which will directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast.

“We are very excited by the results of our “BOATING BIG! ALL ABOARD FOR THE LITTLES,” inaugural campaign and appreciate the support of our generous Freedom Boat Club members and vendors in partnering with us to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America,” said Freedom Boat Club President and CEO John Giglio. “Our team and entire franchise organization was very supportive of this effort to raise funds for this outstanding youth organization. We’re hopeful the share of funds raised here in SW Florida will help to further the good work of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast.

“Our team really enjoyed creating a special boating event for the BIGS and the LITTLES and we hope this experience will create memories that will last a lifetime for them,” he added.

As part of its activities, Freedom Boat Club hosted special “All on Deck” boating parties this past May at three of its clubs in Sarasota, Englewood and Ft. Myers, with a fourth slated for Naples in mid-July.

More than 30 members of Freedom Boat Club’s corporate team participated in the activity and took BIGS and LITTLES on boat rides to various locations where they had a chance to spot marine wildlife, swim, collect shells and enjoy the beauty of SW Florida waterways. The event also included a complimentary lunch and special activities and contests for the littles.

In addition, the company earmarked $100 on all new memberships closed in the month of April, while members and vendors donated additional funds through Freedom Boat Club’s online solicitation initiative and during member social events.

“The freedom to move forward to new opportunities comes from giving our Littles a window into new experiences,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast CEO Joy Mahler. “We at Big Brothers Big Sisters are grateful and appreciative to Freedom Boat Club and their staff for making this amazing ‘All on Deck’ event take place, as well as for the generous funds that support our mission of changing lives for the better, forever!”
