Freedom Boat Club marks 25th anniversary: Public invited to Oct. 24 beach bash in Venice
VENICE, Fla – Freedom Boat Club was a unique concept when it launched in 1989. The Venice-based company was an innovator in the marine industry, creating a new business model that offered boating enthusiasts a hassle-free alternative to boat ownership.
Any doubts about the long-term viability of boating clubs have slowly faded away. Twenty-five years after its inception, Freedom Boat Club (FBC) is no longer a curious novelty. Its rapidly-growing national network now spans 82 locations in 18 states, with more than 800 boats in service from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and numerous waterways in between.
“We want to celebrate this special anniversary and to thank everyone who has helped make Freedom Boat Club a success,” said CEO John Giglio. “We are inviting all our members, as well as the general public, to join us for a fun day on the beach.”
On Fri., Oct. 24, from noon to 8 p.m., Freedom Boat Club will host a special 25th anniversary celebration on the beach at Sharky’s on the Pier, located at 1600 Harbor Drive South, Venice, Fla.
There will be live steel-drum music by Mello Vibes throughout the day, and various games and activities, including a bounce house for kids. West Marine will provide stand-up paddleboards for demos and trial rides.
Complimentary light hors d’oeuvres will be available 12:30-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Sharky’s. Free soft drinks will be available all day. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased from the bar. Special party tents will be set up for the occasion.
There will also be various prizes and raffles. Freedom Boat Club, which will have a boat on display, will give away two $2,500 gifts toward a membership or credit for an existing member. FBC will also be raising funds for one of its favorite causes, Renewal Coalition, which provides support for wounded service veterans and their families.
Bring some beach chairs, along with your family and friends, and enjoy a day at the beach.
