What were your early or initial concerns or objections about Freedom Boat Club?:

I was ready to buy a boat, actually had 2 I was choosing from and a long time boating friend mentioned an alternative to ownership. I of course spreadsheet the costs of both and found a boat club to be much less than ownership... but I was concerned about the quality of boats, not having autonomy to go when and where I wanted. That was a concern and so I went researching all about boat clubs outside the costs, I spoke with all the clubs and found Freedom to be the best of the group!! I hate sales pitches and gimmicky approaches and I got none of that with Freedom. They gave me my answers right away and did'nt insist that I come take a tour as others had!! I was able to make a very educated decision without hassle!
I found my fears of autonomy to be a non issue, I was able to reserve the type of boat I wanted for boating in a day, without the hassles of ownership!! If I owned I would have one type of boat and that would be it. Yea, I am very happy

How would you describe your experiences since becoming a member?:

We have used the club over a dozen times in the late part of the season after joining! The quality and quantity of boats are great!! The ease of reserving on the app is simple!! The dock hands are very helpful and informative!! The training was great, my wife would never drive any boat in the past and she is developing into a safe and confident skipper!! ( Thanks Bill)

What has been the biggest surprise about being a member of Freedom Boat Club?:

I, or my friends we have taken with us can't get over the quality of boats in the fleet!! They are clean and not the rental stuff they throw out to the public, Larry takes pride in providing a top notch fleet for the club!!!

I also was amazed at how easily and quickly we can get out on the water when we arrive at the club!

What do you like best about Freedom Boat Club?:

The boats!!! The people behind the boats!!! The ability to get out on the water in my happy place whether it's out for a ride or serious fishing!! The Chesapeake and it's rivers are beautiful, and my family and friends have a front row seat to see it!!!

What would you tell someone who asked for your opinion about Freedom Boat Club?:

What are you waiting for, it makes sense if your into boats and being on the water, Freedom Boat Club is the best way to do it!! It makes sense financially, logistically, and efficiency over boat ownership!!!

Is there anything else you'd like to add?:

If you have any questions or just want to talk to a club member please contact me I would love to talk to you!!!

In your early or initial concerns or objections about Freedom Boat Club?:

I am an avid boater and have been in most of the clubs in the Annapolis area. I was hoping that this club could provide the service, access, staffing, and updated boat inventory that many of the other clubs lack. As an accomplished boater, I wanted to be sure that I was treated as a true boater, as many members are not. I did not want the boats to scream RENTAL when I had them out... and many do.

Also, I wanted after-hours privileges as dusk is a tough return time depending on the destination.

How would you describe your experiences since becoming a member?:

This club is by far the best I have been involved with.
I am in love with the center-console boats and the size and the look of the fleet.
I feel like I have my own personal boat each time we go out. The fact that there are 2 locations so close to my home and 4 more within a reasonable distance, there is no reason to have my own boat. To be able to access the Magothy, Severn, South Rivers and get across the bay from different points is key for me.

The staff is amazing. I find myself wanting to tip them at a high level because, from the time I pull into the parking lot, I feel like I have a personal valet. I have been able to keep the boat overnight and with an approved float plan, I plan to utilize that option more next year.

What has been the biggest surprise about being a member of Freedom Boat Club?:

During a business trip to Ft. Lauderdale, I wanted to take a client out on the Intercoastal Waterway. It was a weekend, but Larry picked up my call and went above and beyond to get me on the water in Florida on a Sunday! The staff at the reciprocal club was as fantastic as the Annapolis team.

What do you like best about Freedom Boat Club?:

Clean boats. New boats. Lots of boats. Teamwork.

Larry and the team go out of their way to accommodate the members. Although I try to plan as best I can, I must say that I get a boat 90% of the time...and I often call last minute! On Labor Day weekend, the team got me on a boat and I felt they pulled off a miracle.

What would you tell someone who asked for your opinion about Freedom Boat Club?:

Its a no-brainer and I have my own boat dock! I did the math...why would I pay to upkeep, dock, winterize and clean my own boat when the Freedom Boats are fantastic, I can take out the proper vessel for each occasion (fishing, skiing, sunning, party barging) and I get to drop it off at the end of the day for someone else to clean?

As a single mom, the ability to get on and off the water, with or without my kids, with very little hassle is key. The multiple locations have allowed me to explore WAAAAAYYYY more of the Bay than I would if I was always launching from the same location.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?:

Thank you Larry, Joanna, Laurie, Mike and the entire team. It's a high end family affair!
