Nick Hooge is the Owner of Freedom Boat Club Seatlle. Prior to joining Freedom Boat Club, Nick served our country as a three-tour combat veteran.
Nick’s passion for the water started at a young age as his childhood was spent enjoying boating along the waterways of the Midwest. From Lake of the Ozarks to the Ten Thousand Lakes in Minnesota and especially the Missouri River, Nick’s love for boating has continued to expand, including sailing on the Pacific Ocean during college through experiencing all that the Seattle area has to offer for boaters.
“Freedom Boat Club is perfect for anyone who wants to maximize their boating lifestyle,” he added. “I’m excited to welcome new members to Seattle and look forward to building relationships at this wonderful club location and community.”

Colin Smith is Freedom Boat Club's Operations Director. He is here to ensure that our members have the best experience, as well as maximum fun when they go out on the water.
Colin’s boating adventures started at a young age, driving bowriders and jet skis on the lakes of Texas and even the Great Lakes. Colin continues to make memories out on the water and has a new obsession with the Puget Sound. The salt water adventures being surrounded by mountains and islands is nothing like he’s ever experienced before. He loves the waves, the view of Mt. Rainier, and the convenience of being able to float over to Blake Island Marine State Park for the day to hang in his hammock. Colin loves sending our members out on water to experience what he enjoys most!
Capt. Doug is Freedom Boat Clubs US Coat Guard Captain. He is here to train our members on how to operate our vessels safely and confidently.
Capt. Doug has been a USCG Certified Captain as well as a Captain for the Virginia V for 5 years. Before that, he was a member of the Neptune Sailing Club. He sailed with them for 28 years. So if you ever have any questions about how to sail, Capt. Doug is the guy to talk to. Capt. Doug also used to be a pilot. He was what they call an Ariel Photographer. He has always enjoyed training members who previously were or are pilots on how to operate our vessels because they pick it up so easily. He also just loves to be out on the Sounds taking in all its beauty. Something he often says is:
“Joining the team here at Freedom Boat Club reinvigorated my love for Seattle and boating.”
Natalie Nenno is the Reservationist for Freedom Boat Club. She is here to help better serve our members as well as assist Nick and Colin in assuring that everything runs smoothly and effectively.
Natalie has been around boats her whole life due to growing up on Long Lake near Spokane. Being out on the water with her friends and family is one of her favorite activities. Growing up she loved wakesurfing and tubing on the Lake. Now that Natalie lives in the Seattle Area, she eagerly looks forward to exploring around the Puget Sound and experiencing all the adventure the sea has to offer!
